Madoka Magica Movie, Official Guidebook "With You"

Been dropping by Kinokuniya in the city recently in search of something interesting, with money to spend, had a look around and ended up getting myself some nice awesome goodies.

Being a lover of art illustrations and a fan of Puella Magi Madoka Magica and works from CLAMP I just couldn't pass up on getting these two books. The first being a nice illustrations guide to the first two Madoka movies and the second a comprehensive book on all of CLAMP's works. For now I will just focus on the Madoka guide book and do CLAMP's for another time.

Surprisingly the table of contents for the book is located on the back cover (on the left cover). The book starts off containing various official illustrated artworks with the largest featuring Homura and Goddess Madoka, although the photos don't show it the quality and resolution of the works are superb.

Too bad they have to leave the best of the lot to be cutoff like that. -_-

And various exclusive pics of our magical girls dressed in all manners of fashion.

Now the next part is the screen cap summary of the first movie, 'The Beginning Story', it features some key dialogues and is somewhat "theme sectioned" accordingly to each character (colour theme) while maintaining chronological order of the movie.

A yellow theme for Mami and a blue theme for Sayaka.

After this entire section then comes the countless interviews with the seiyuus (voice actors), writer Gen Urobuchi, character designer Aoki Ume and many other notable contributors.

Oh and lets not forget about the after-recording comic by Hige.

The book also delves into some design sketches of various scenes and architecture as well as featuring ideas of character height in relation.

Next comes the second movie 'The Eternal Story' screen caps, similar to the first in layout and approach with the themes, now focusing on Kyouko and Homura.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica Movie Official Guidebook "With You" certainly makes a great accompaniment for those whoever watched the movies or even the original show. Though it wouldn't be complete without the first guidebook 'You Are Not Alone' which compiles lots of background material on the show.
