All About CLAMP

Has been a while since the last promised update and finally we can take a look at that nice CLAMP art book that I bought a while back. The "All About CLAMP" as implied is a relatively comprehensive compilation of most of CLAMP's works to date (No Gate 7), the book features collections of official art from various medias ranging from anime adverts, magazines to works from CLAMP.

The book seems to be divided into subsections, although the works are arranged mostly in chronological order. As an art book there is a lot of material running up to around 262 pages.

One of the first sections that comes up is on Kobato, still an ongoing work, I'm not exactly a CLAMP guru so I'll just say that most of this sections is dedicated to their early works and mainly provides a summary and back story of each of the featured works.

There are also various pics scattered across the section, all done in pastel. I'm not going to spend too much time on each section so I'll be mostly skimming them and giving a relative idea of what each part is about.

A section on Cardcaptor Sakura, all in pastel, Sakura's sections is notably longer then the others.

Lots of posteresque types from the Cardcaptor anime.

Next comes the other non-pastel media, with sections dedicated to magazine covers from Newtype and other anime media types. Yet again this section is dominated by Cardcaptor Sakura, Tsubasa Chronicle and XXXHolic.

The book also comes with a bonus manga chapter 18.5 from X Ekusu aka X/1999.

And finally the rest of the book covers the remaining works of CLAMP up to the more recent, similar to the earlier pastel version but instead no more pastels. The art book is a big book filled with many goodies, I decided to not spend too much time on each section since it would mean a very long post. The book delves on many of CLAMP's works and I think for those who are fans of CLAMP this book is an absolute must get.
